What I do with your birth data
Your birth date, exact time and place are personal data under UK GDPR. This page says what I collect, why, who else sees it, how long I keep it, and how to have it deleted. Plain language, no clauses.
Who is responsible
Sergio Durá Fernández, trading as Clear Reading, based in London. I am the data controller — there is no company behind this, just me. Any question about your data comes to sergiodurafernandez@gmail.com and is answered by me.
What I collect
From the form: your name, email, preferred language, date of birth, exact time of birth, city and country of birth, and whatever you choose to put in the message. Later, if we go ahead: my session notes and the letter I write for you. That's everything. There is no tracking, no advertising pixel, and no profile built about you.
What I don't need
The open question is there so I arrive prepared, not so you disclose anything sensitive. Please don't send health information, and I won't ask for it. If something sensitive comes up in what you write or in the session, I don't record it in my notes and it doesn't go in your letter unless you ask me to include it.
Why, and on what basis
The birth details are the only way to calculate a chart, and the email is how I send the pre-read, the meeting link, the recording and your letter. I process all of this to deliver the reading you've booked — the lawful basis is performance of a contract. Records I need for tax are kept because the law requires it. I don't use any of it for marketing, and I don't share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Who else processes it
A small number of services act on my behalf:
- Web3Forms, which delivers your message to my inbox.
- The scheduling tool, which holds the time you pick.
- Google, for email, video calls and file storage.
- CartaNatal.com, where I enter your birth date, time and place to calculate the chart. Your name does not go in.
- The website host, which serves these pages and stores nothing about you.
Where your data goes
Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards those providers have in place for UK and EU data, such as the UK addendum to the standard contractual clauses. I keep this list short deliberately.
The recording
Sessions are recorded so you can keep the recording. I'll confirm at the start that you're happy for it to be recorded, and if you'd rather I didn't, say so and I won't — everything else stays the same. Recordings are stored in my Google account, sent only to you, and deleted after 12 months.
How long I keep it
Birth details, session notes and your letter are kept for two years, in case you come back and we build on the same chart. Recordings are deleted after 12 months. Records needed for tax are kept for six years, as UK law requires. You can ask me to delete any of it sooner.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The only thing stored in your browser is your language choice, so the site opens in the language you picked.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, ask me to restrict or stop using it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email me and I'll do it within one month and confirm when it's done. There's no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, tell me first and I'll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
